About the Image Color Picker

The Image Color Picker runs entirely in your browser. Drop or select an image, then move your mouse over the canvas to preview the color of the pixel under the cursor in real time. Click anywhere on the image to capture that pixel's color. The Current pixel swatch updates as you move; the Picked color swatch holds the value from your last click and displays both RGB and HEX representations. Use Copy HEX or Copy RGB to send the value to your clipboard. Nothing is uploaded; all processing happens locally.

How to use it

  1. Click the drop zone or drop an image file onto it.
  2. Move your mouse across the canvas — the current pixel swatch follows the cursor.
  3. Click to capture the pixel's color into the Picked color panel.
  4. Click Copy HEX or Copy RGB to copy the value, or Clear to start over.

Frequently asked questions

How is the HEX value computed? Each channel value is converted to a two-digit hexadecimal string and concatenated: # + RR + GG + BB.

Why does the color look slightly off? Canvas pixel data uses the image's stored RGB values, which may differ from what you see on screen due to color management, image scaling, or display profiles.

Does this tool upload my images? No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.

Can I pick multiple colors? The tool keeps only the most recent pick. Use Copy HEX after each click to save colors as you go.
